THE LENS E-NEWSLETTER/JOURNAL

Letters to the Editor
From Our Readers

Dear Steve,

How interesting to read everyone’s approach to the topic of openness (August 2011 Issue). I’m very moved by Domenico's words — about being non-judgemental and really listening — touché! Maybeth, Kathleen, Bea, and Katherine always illuminate their essays with such vivid stories — Christa too, the story about the school board president dressing as a janitor is fascinating. And I really appreciate her affirmation. The threads throughout these essays felt so much about perspective — or a shift in perspective — the ability to open oneself enough to see in a new light. From experience, that sometimes comes easily and at other times, feels like the hardest work of all. I love the rule of threes and completely agree. I usually feel like the universe is sending me a message with a loudspeaker when I get three in a row, and it gives me chills every time! : )

Thank you to all the contributors,

- Erin O'Kelley Muck, Ashland, OR

Dear Steve:

I just wanted to tell you that I truly enjoyed your article about openness. There was a wonderful humor in it that I hadn’t noticed before. Your honest reflections about smoking were refreshing and provided a good example. I also made a mental note about the “rule of 3” in synchronicity – good idea!
