About The Lens - Issue 20
Our colleague Christa Metzger reads and comments on each issue of The Lens. Her feedback and keen eye is a gift to all of us. Below are her comments about the last issue of the Lens with the theme: Principle of Our Unique Gifts and Talents.
Dear Steve:
I just read this issue again in a more deeply reflective manner. Below is a brief phrase from each writer of what I especially want to remember:
Paul - "we are all star stuff"
Steve – "life should be an ongoing exploration"
Adam - "fathom what’s below and above the surfaces of the seen world."
Peter and Anne - "stay connected to your inner voice and intuitive urging"
Tom - "blessed with the gift of empathy"
Maybeth - "I will remain a dutiful student"
Kathleen - “You can be anything you want to be!”
Bob - "To see others clearly is to see God manifested in all imaginable guises on this Earth"
..................................................................................................................................................
Dear Steve, I loved each author's take on this principle.
The gifts shared: "psychic navigator" (Paul), seeing a mostly unseen world (Adam), empathy and support (Tom), Christa's beautiful take on the gifts that matter – "how we touch the hearts and souls of others and allow them to open us to a deeper connection with them, and with our own true Selves".
The lessons revealed: the wisdom from a small child, "aren't all kids gifted and talented?" (Kathleen) –that made my heart melt! Polishing all sides of the stone so you'll be shiny all over (Stephen). The gifts given by others, even unlikely teachers (Maybeth). And Bob, whose articles give me goose bumps every time with their simple yet profound messages, I can see at least one of your gifts shining brightly. : )
Lastly, I love the concept Peter and Anne talk about in their essay Earth School ~ about how we are living each life until are in a state to be reunited with God. Truthfully, for me, that would be the easier essay to write ~ "What I Need to Work On in this Lifetime.” But I see power in acknowledging the gifts we have, and how others are inspired or moved or comforted by what each of us brings. Thank you once again for the insights and for sharing!
